Sewer Rehabilitation

The process of replacing, repairing or upgrading existing sewer pipelines by pipe relining, curing and sealing is sewer rehabilitation. Thanks to modern technologies, Active Engineering Co. often utilizes those methods that do not need open excavation to replace or repair pipes. The methods involved in sewer rehabilitation are mechanical spot repair, pipe bursting, grout-in-place pipe, thermoformed pipe, shotcrete, cured-in-place pipe (CIIP) and slip lining. All these require little or no excavation. When the whole pipe needs repair, methods like thermoformed pipe and cured-in-place pipe (CIIP) come into use. In cases where the whole pipe is not damaged, other methods are effective for repairing weak spots or leaks.

Sewer Desilting

A major way of keeping sewers, pipes, drains and gullies properly functional is desilting them. It keeps them clean and helps to prevent the flooding of roads in the rainy season. If roads become flooded, it can cause dangerous situations.

The heavier matter that sinks and collects at the bottom of a sewer pipe is known as silt. A rock-like substance can ultimately form from the silt if regular cleaning of the pipe does not take place. This reduces the flow capacity of the system. When there is heavy rainfall, there can be flooding of the streets due to lack of sewer desilting at regular intervals.

We break up the silt with high-pressure water jets and then forcibly sent it to the next downstream manhole. All the silt is taken into a special tanker from there and after that, we dispose of it safely. Sewer desilting is not at all a complex procedure with our modern equipment.
